Job Description
Client Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Equipment Engineers to join our Production Engineering organization in Auburn, WA. This Asset Integration/Systems focused position will support exciting new endeavors in the Fabrication Division.
A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be on the production floor interacting with operators and troubleshooting with technicians and mechanics to support the production system.

Primary Responsibilities- This is an equipment development, implementation, and improvement role focused on ensuring the reliability, safety, and integrity of critical production assets.
- Develop and implement asset reliability systems.
- Conduct equipment health assessments.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Manage asset lifecycle, asset documentation, and preventative maintenance plans.
- Manage testing and commissioning of complex automated system projects, including new acquisitions and equipment modifications.
- Evaluate business unit and project requirements, develop complex equipment concepts, and design solutions for the production system.
- Coordinate with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and procurement agents to manage equipment project schedules and budgets.
- Generate complex equipment specifications and corresponding verification/validation test protocols for production system assets.
- Address reliability and obsolescence issues by analyzing maintenance and spare parts usage records to optimize performance and reduce costs.
- Optimize high-precision milling, forming, and other metal processing equipment for safety, ergonomics, quality, production flow, reliability, and maintainability.
- Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements.
- Validate contractual performance milestones, maintain configuration control, conduct reviews, and prepare plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spare parts.
- Develop and implement workarounds while maintaining hardware, software, and documentation configuration.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Engineering Technology), Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
- 3 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project management experience supporting complex technical projects, evaluating and selecting equipment solutions, and assessing spare parts inventory in a production environment.
- Experience working with hardware, software, and configuration management documentation.
- Experience working with industry standards, including compliance with hardware and safety codes.
- Technical writing experience.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing techniques.
- Experience in automation and robotics.
- Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to train less experienced engineers.
- Ability to collaborate with individuals across a variety of skill levels and personality types.
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry (e.g., Bachelor's degree).
- Typically 5 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master's degree + 3 years of related work experience).
