About the Role
As the first point of contact for most clients, the Teller - Float plays a key role in delivering Columbia Bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. Guided by the Float Manager, various Branch Managers, and Assistant Branch Managers, the primary responsibility is to ensure banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and banking regulations. The role also involves traveling within a geographic area to cover branches that need staffing support.
Responsibilities- Perform teller transactions and cash handling functions accurately and confidentially, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing, and balancing cash drawers.
- Support daily branch integrity tasks such as double‑custody ATM balancing, processing night‑drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, processing returned mail, balancing credit card machines, and updating lobby rate sheets and brochures.
- Mitigate risk by safeguarding cash drawer money and ensuring prompt accounting or transfer of funds.
- Travel within a geographic area to cover branches requiring staffing support.
- Interact with external and internal clients, anticipate needs, and provide proactive solutions in alignment with the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards.
- Continuously deepen knowledge of Columbia Bank’s product and service offerings and stay current on changes.
- Discuss and uncover customers’ financial needs to identify and offer appropriate products and services.
- Support referral goals by identifying and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner.
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- One year of previous banking or customer service experience (preferred).
- Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to learn and comply with all bank policies, procedures, and systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in written numbers, words, and verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to build relationships with clients and other bank associates.

CompensationPay range: $18 to $23 per hour. Additional performance‑based incentive compensation may apply.
Location2041 Auburn Way N, Auburn, WA 98002. Ability to work fully onsite at the posted location.
