Probation Services Supervisor

The Auburn Municipal Court is looking for a Probation Services Supervisor to add to the team! This is a unique opportunity to assist the Judges and Court Administrator in developing probation services guidelines and policies ahead of the reopening of Auburn Municipal Court. In this job, you will:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and participate in the daily work of the Probation Services Division, assigning and monitoring caseloads, reviewing work for quality and timeliness, and assisting staff with complex or sensitive cases.
  • Develop and implement efficient and effective divisional procedures, ensuring established goals, priorities, procedures, performance expectations, and objectives are met, in coordination with the Court Administrator; analyzes the effectiveness of the operations and activities of the division; and recommends changes.
  • Maintain an active caseload and performs Probation Officer duties as necessary to balance workloads, provide coverage during absences, address staffing shortages, or manage high-priority or complex cases.
  • Oversee jail alternative programs including, but not limited to, Electronic Home Monitoring and random drug testing including contracts, expenditures, and audits.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or closely related field
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience related to probation services, court support services, case management, criminal justice programs, social services, or a related field OR a combination of relevant education and experience which would demonstrate that the individual's knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the duties listed above.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Possess and retain a valid Washington state driver's license without impending loss at time of appointment.
  • Successfully complete the Correctional Services Academy training within six (6) months of employment as required by WAC
  • Successfully complete Ohio Risk Assessment System End User training within six (6) months of employment.
  • This position will be required to be fingerprinted and complete the CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) Security Certification Test to be allowed to view sensitive information and have unescorted access while at the Police Department (per Washington State Patrol ACCESS unit).
