Probation Officer

The Auburn Municipal Court is looking for two (2) Probation Office rs to add to the team! Be a part of the rewarding Probation Services Division of Auburn Municipal Court. As a member of the Probation Services team, you will provide tools, resources, and support to justice-involved individuals while promoting public safety and accountability within the community. The Court has a shared vision of providing trust, innovation, and accessibility to court users, and these values extend to Probation Services.

The division uses evidence-based practices and techniques to enforce court orders, promote accountability, and provide meaningful options and resources to clients.

• Manage an assigned caseload and conducts intake, classification, risk/needs assessments, reassessments, and case planning consistent with court orders, applicable standards, and departmental procedures.
• Outreach to treatment facilities and other interventions to ensure accurate reporting to the court.
• Administer and monitor alternatives to incarceration and other court-authorized programs as assigned, which may include community service, electronic monitoring, day reporting, therapeutic or behavioral programming, and other sentencing alternatives.
• Administer compliance tools such as drug testing and preliminary breath tests.
• Appear and testify in court as required; presents case information, documentation, professional assessments, and recommendations to judges, attorneys, and other authorized court participants.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, behavioral science, law enforcement, or other closely relate field,

• Two (2) years of experience in probation, corrections, court services, criminal justice, social services, case management.

• Valid Washington state driver's license without pending risk of loss at time of appointment.
• Successfully complete the Correctional Services Academy training within six (6) months of employment as required by WAC
• Successfully complete Ohio Risk Assessment System End User training within six (6) months of employment.

This position will be required to be fingerprinted and complete the CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) Security Certification Test to be allowed to view sensitive information and have unescorted access while at the Police Department (per Washington State Patrol ACCESS unit).
