Puget Sound Hospice is seeking an experienced full-time Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to join our Hospice divisions covering Pierce and King County!

- Plan and Supervise:
Oversee the delivery of all volunteer services, ensuring quality and compliance. - Monitor Performance:
Track volunteer contributions, time, and service quality. - Recruit and Select:
Interview, recruit, and choose volunteers for the program. - Train and Orient:
Design/manage volunteer orientation and training sessions. - Evaluate Volunteers:
Assess volunteer performance/provide feedback. - Ensure Compliance:
Enforce volunteer hospice policies and procedures . - Promote Community Awareness:
Increase visibility of the volunteer program. - Team:
Attend Hospice IDG meetings, connect volunteers with the care team. - Meeting:
Visiting with patients in their home to determine needs/wishes. - Generate Support:
Identify opportunities for grants, donations, or community partnerships to enhance patient and volunteer resources. - Advocating:
For patients and families - aligning with their emotional, spiritual, and practical needs.
- Education:
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (Human Services, Social Work, etc.). - Experience:
Background in volunteer coordination, hospice, healthcare, or nonprofit work preferred. - Communication:
Strong verbal and written skills; able to work with diverse groups. - Organization:
Skilled in scheduling, tracking hours, and maintaining compliance. - Tech:
Proficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable with databases or EMRs. - Personality:
Empathetic, dependable, detail-oriented, and a team player. - Other:
Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle; able to pass background check. - Travel : ability to travel throughout Pierce County.
