We are seeking a skilled Wood Shop Fabricator to join our in‑house fabrication team. This hands‑on role focuses on machining, prepping, modifying, and assembling commercial wood doors and frames to meet architectural and hardware specifications. The ideal candidate has direct shop experience, a strong commitment to quality craftsmanship, and proficiency operating commercial woodworking equipment.
Essential Functions- Fabricate, modify, and assemble commercial wood doors and frames to specifications.
- Perform precise machining and routing for hinges, locks, closers, lite kits, and other hardware.
- Operate woodworking machinery and power tools (saws, routers, sanders, planers, door manufacturing equipment).
- Inspect finished products for quality, fire ratings, and compliance with specifications and industry standards.
- Build, crate, stage, and move materials using forklifts or pallet jacks as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules.
- 2+ years' experience working in a commercial wood shop, millwork, or door fabrication environment
- Experience with commercial wood doors and frames, including pre‑hung assemblies.
- Knowledge of fire‑rated assemblies and standards such as AWI and NFPA.
- Familiarity with wood or specialty frame prep.
- Proficiency operating woodworking machinery (Norfield Magnum or similar door assembler, strike and hinge machines, routers, and saws).
- Ability to read shop drawings, templates, and hardware schedules.
- Experience using hand and power tools safely.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
- Detail‑oriented with strong quality and safety focus.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem‑solving, time management, and reading comprehension skills.
- This position is performed primarily in a wood shop and warehouse production environment and includes moderate to high noise levels, airborne dust, and exposure to fumes and moving mechanical equipment typical of woodworking operations. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required.
- The role involves regular standing, walking, use of hands and arms, and operation of woodworking machinery and material‑handling equipment. The employee may be required to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and finished products as part of normal job duties. Visual acuity (near and distance), depth perception, and the ability to communicate effectively are necessary to safely perform essential functions.

This is a full‑time position with a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Additional hours, including overtime, may be required to support operational and production needs.
