Production Technician
Auburn, WA
Pay: $23.00 per hour
The Production Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, and inspecting electrical control equipment, including panel boards and switchboards, in a manufacturing environment. This role requires the ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics, use hand and power tools, and ensure all products meet quality and safety standards. The position supports production efficiency by maintaining workflow, identifying issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives while working collaboratively within a team.
Job Responsibilities- Assemble, wire, and mount subassemblies, components, and electrical control equipment
- Build panel boards and switchboards to customer specifications using drawings and schematics
- Perform testing and inspection of finished products to ensure quality and compliance
- Use tools such as wire strippers, pliers, and other hand and power tools for assembly tasks
- Follow established procedures for electrical and mechanical verification of assembled units
- Maintain production timelines and communicate delays, issues, or material shortages
- Receive, store, and manage materials; prepare completed products for shipment
- Support Lean initiatives by identifying opportunities for process and quality improvements
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with 5S standards
- Cross‑train across functions to support production needs
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in assembly or related field using hand and/or power tools
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing production demands
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to safety practices and participation in safety training
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in assembly, electrical wiring, automotive repair, construction, carpentry, or similar fields preferred
- Experience with measuring tools, torque requirements, and hardware assembly preferred
- Experience with fabrication equipment such as press brakes or related tools preferred
