Job Details
Base Pay: $22.50 - $25.50 per hour
Shift: Day Shift, 4:00 AM - 2:30 PM

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Quality Assurance Technician II tests and inspects products and materials at various stages of the production process. Conducts audits of Critical To Quality (CTQ) processes and Engineering Change Notices (ECN). Measures and evaluates machinery output. Performs Receiving Inspection and investigates other material issues as needed. Takes an active role with ongoing training of line employees. Is able to utilize appropriate problem‑solving tools to determine the root causes of issues.
Suggests ideas for and submits drafts of new CTQs and procedures.
- Select products or materials for testing. Test product/material for quality characteristics, such as dimensions, performance, mechanical operation and appearance.
- Record test data, prepare graphs/charts, interpret engineering drawings, and note nature and magnitude of non‑conformity.
- Enter data into personal computer. Write description of problem. Prepare Quarantine forms as required. Complete a comprehensive daily tie‑in to all of Fabrication Management.
- Set up and perform destructive and non‑destructive tests on materials, parts or products.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree or technical diploma in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Certification in quality control (e.g., Certified Quality Technician, Six Sigma certification) is a plus
- 1‑3 years of experience in quality control/assurance in a manufacturing environment, preferably in vinyl extrusion or window manufacturing
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools in a manufacturing setting
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges for product inspection
- Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality management systems (QMS)
- Experience with blueprint reading, including specifications for window profiles and dimensions
- Proficiency with quality control software and data entry tools
- Attention to Detail:
Ability to identify defects such as surface imperfections, incorrect dimensions, or inconsistencies in vinyl profiles - Problem‑Solving:
Strong analytical skills for identifying root causes of quality issues and developing corrective measures - Communication:
Ability to communicate findings clearly and work effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams - Data Analysis:
Ability to collect, interpret, and present quality data to support decision‑making - Time Management:
Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain efficiency in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment - Computer
Skills:
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and documentation purposes - Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis above shoulder height and below the waist
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery
