Job Description
Lead and oversee production operations in the extrusion department, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency goals are achieved. Foster a collaborative and engaged work environment while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES:
* Maintain high visibility and engage employees through a hands-on approach to daily communication and problem-solving
* Promote and enforce a safe work environment and safe employee work habits
* Develop a high-performance team with strong employee engagement, morale, satisfaction, and performance
* Monitor production schedules and resolve issues to ensure smooth operations
* Ensure product quality standards are met through standard work, training, and use of tools/data
* Implement customer-focused processes aligned with lean principles
* Provide training and coaching to improve standard work, 5S organization, and housekeeping
* Lead change initiatives and support a culture of continuous improvement
* Support associates in understanding company policies and practices
* Maintain accurate production and time records
* Identify and resolve process-related problems with corrective actions
* Communicate effectively with supervisors, personnel, and other stakeholders on equipment, safety, schedules, policies, and performance improvement
* Manage extrusion inventory to ensure adequate supplies for operations
* Foster teamwork and collaboration among extrusion teams to achieve collective goals
* Drive plant process improvements and performance to meet KPIs
* Lead recruitment, supervision, evaluation, and development of staff
* Conduct training in tooling, troubleshooting, machine operations, safety procedures, and record-keeping
* Identify career development paths for associates and support their professional growth
* Coordinate shift assignments and breaks to maintain seamless operations
* Complete necessary plant operation paperwork, logs, audits, and corrective actions
* Utilize PDCA process for problem-solving and improvement initiatives
* Respond promptly to short-notice production or delivery needs
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
* Administer policies consistently and fairly
* Provide coaching, counseling, and corrective action following company guidelines
* Promote company goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
* Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives including 5S and cost reduction
* Report safety, quality, and disciplinary issues to management promptly
* Foster cross-shift communication to resolve issues effectively
Secondary Responsibilities:
* Participate in assigned continuous improvement events
* Facilitate SQDCE meetings and utilize accountability boards effectively
* Communicate strategic initiatives, policy changes, and performance feedback to employees
* Support employee development through performance management and coaching
* Train production line staff in extrusion processes and control scrap vinyl
* Ensure timely completion of extrusion production schedules
* Perform extrusion equipment operations as needed
* Collaborate with the extrusion team on cost-saving initiatives
Qualifications
Qualifications
* 3-5 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment in a leadership role is required.
* Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
* Proficient with MS Office Products and HRIS Systems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
* Experience managing and motivating teams.
* Experience in implementing and monitoring production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
* Available to arrive at work early and stay late to complete tasks, including some weekends.
* Ability to work in varying internal temperatures.

* Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week. Union programs may vary depending on the collective bargaining agreement.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $82,000 - $87,000 + 5% Bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
