CNC Machinist; 3 Axis

POSITION SUMMARY

Machinist operating computer numerical control machines and conventional machines to fabricate parts. Responsibilities include loading parts, running production lots, detecting malfunctions, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment in support of Sonaca North America’s quality and safety policies.

• Set up and operate CNC Machining Centers (3-axis)
• Check and monitor the parts being run
• Read basic dimensions and tolerances from a blueprint
• Ensure quality standards are met during machining
• Produce the required quantity of parts within cycle time limits
• Deburr and blend all machined parts
• Perform daily machine maintenance: maintain fluid levels, empty chips, and wipe down equipment to remove coolant, dust, and debris
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Complete and file necessary paperwork accurately
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality

• 2+ years of CNC machining experience on CNC mills or enrollment in a machining program at a technical college
• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers)
• Capacity for sustained concentration and focus to fulfill responsibilities

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Tolerance of noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
• Requirement to wear personal protective equipment (eye, ear, foot protection)
• Occasional lifting or moving of 10–50 pounds

Hourly pay of $22–$25, DOE.
