Assembly Lead

Overview

Sonaca North America is a leading provider of aerospace and defense solutions. We are seeking an Assembly Lead to perform critical assembly and leadership functions within our manufacturing operations.

• Assemble aircraft parts and structures using drilling, riveting, bonding, and joining techniques.
• Deburr, finish, and perform surface preparation including trimming, sanding, and blemish repair.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications for part quality and acceptance.
• Use gauges, calipers, and other measuring tools to verify part integrity and dimensional accuracy.
• Enforce all quality, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Act as the safety monitor for the work center, ensuring a safe work environment and enforcing the behavioral‑based safety program.
• Provide on‑the‑job training (OJT) to new and existing employees and support development of the work team.
• Lead team meetings, including Team‑Based Corrective Action meetings, and serve as a facilitator of continuous improvement.
• Assist the supervisor with employee development, performance reviews, and disciplinary discussions as needed.
• Assist in the development of work instructions and participation in cross‑functional process improvement projects.
