Job Summary
Sonaca North America is seeking a Raw Materials Handler – Shear. The Handler is responsible for performing Receiving, Delivery and Inventory daily departmental activities and supporting production operations while adhering to Sonaca’s Quality Policy and continuous improvement principles.
Responsibilities- Perform Receiving, Delivery and Inventory daily departmental activities.
- Operate the shear machine to deliver raw material.
- Load and unload trucks using forklift, pallet jack, and/or hand truck as needed and in accordance with safety regulations.
- Unpack crates and boxes, check items for accuracy and damage, and document accordingly.
- Accurately process all Jobscope system transactions related to Receiving and bin transferring.
- Assist with production operations, including roll‑forming skin panels.
- Assist with maintenance related to receiving files.
- Monitor and revise weekly I50 report.
- Perform Lean and 6S functions.
- Investigate and determine root causes of errors/issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in ergonomic exercises.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred; otherwise a pre‑employment assessment is required.
- One to three months of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to complete all job duties and interact with employees, customers, vendors, and others in a manner consistent with Sonaca values.
- Ability to be trained and acquire a Sonaca Forklift License.
- Current valid driver’s license with no major traffic violations within the previous three years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance for all customer delivery sites, including GAC access badge for on‑site delivery.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of database software, internet software, and spreadsheet software, and ability to use Outlook; AS400 a plus.
- Ability to perform various production, material handling tasks requiring physical strength and dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret basic work order instructions and drawings.
- Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
- Strong team orientation and willingness to learn and complete additional tasks as needed.
- Excellent organizational skills and discipline to maintain orderly systems.
- Effective communication and courteous interaction with all stakeholders.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Noise exposure ranging from quiet to extremely loud.
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on the manufacturing floor, including eye, ear, and foot protection.
