Numerical Control Programmer 4 – Machining & Tooling
LOCATION:
Auburn, WA
PAY RATE: $77/hour

Create, verify, and revise Machine Control Data (MCD), tooling geometry, and setup documentation for multi-axis CNC machines (primarily 5-axis
).Develop NC programs for complex aluminum and hard-metal aerospace components using engineering drawings and planning documentation.
Plan multiple setups and machining operations for complex geometries while ensuring proper fixturing, tooling, and machine selection.
Produce detailed setup sheets and operator instructions for safe and consistent machining operations.
Validate programs using simulation tools such as Vericut to eliminate collisions and machining errors.
Troubleshoot and refine programs using first-article inspection results and shop-floor feedback.
Collaborate with planning, manufacturing engineering, tooling design, and machine operators to optimize cycle time and manufacturability.
Lead the design of custom fixtures and tooling strategies for complex machining operations.
Maintain program documentation, revisions, and configuration control.
Typically requires an Associate degree with 6+ years of related experience
, or an equivalent combination of education and CNC programming experience.7+ years of NC/CNC programming experience in production machining.
Experience programming 5-axis CNC machines for aerospace components.
Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation
.Experience with
CATIA V5 NC programming
.Experience with
NC simulation/verification tools (e.g., Vericut).Ability to develop clear setup documentation and operator instructions
.Ability to work 2nd shift
.Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Experience designing custom fixtures and tooling for multi-setup machining
.Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and first-article inspection requirements
.Proven ability to improve machining efficiency and reduce cycle times.
Strong communication skills working with engineering, planning, and shop-floor teams.
Experience with additional CAM systems or aerospace post-processors.
