Material Control Operator
We are seeking a dedicated Material Control Operator to manage and organize inventory information across multiple branch locations. You will be responsible for the accurate monitoring and maintenance of company product inventory, working collaboratively with a diverse team.
Responsibilities- Operate sit-down forklifts, order pickers, and side-loader forklifts.
- Conduct inventory control and cycle counting duties.
- Enter inventory data into a computer system and record data manually.
- Load and unload metal materials manually and with a forklift.
- Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or direct from the mill.
- Coordinate movement of material from stock to processing to support production requirements.
- Operate material handling equipment as necessary.
- Perform accurate and timely data entry regarding material movements.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags.
- Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket activities.
- Identify material shortages and communicate to appropriate staff.
- Perform verification of scrap.
- Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
- Assist the quality assurance team in activities related to credits.
- Perform equipment preventative maintenance and cleanup.
- Forklift operation with at least 1.5 years of experience.
- Basic data entry skills for tracking inventory.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Basic math skills.
- Certification to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and side-loaders.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3 years of material control or inventory experience preferred.
- Experience safely operating a variety of material handling equipment.
- Strong attendance and work history.
- Attention to detail and ability to work on your feet.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is fast-paced within a large raw material supplier facility where materials are stored, cut, and shipped to customers. The facility hosts over 60 employees working on the floor, and candidates should be comfortable operating machinery in a warehouse setting. Shifts vary between first, second, and third, offering different working hours for flexibility.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.50 - $24.50/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
