Metal Fabricator

We are looking for a reliable Welder/Fabricator to work in our hollow metal shop. The position involves fabrication and finishing of commercial steel doors and frames. Duties are primarily grinding and finishing of welded frames and doors.

We are a small, team-oriented shop, and we’re looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, takes pride in their work, and works well alongside others. Reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to pitch in where needed are essential.

Essential Functions Read work orders to determine product specifications and materials requirements.

Review drawings or other instructions to determine task sequences.

Manually lift, move, and lay out materials to prepare for assembly.

Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units using MIG welders and hand tools.

Smooth surfaces or edges, using hand files and portable grinders.

Physical demands as outlined below.

Position Requirements

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Required Experience:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience welding light gauge steel with MIG welder.

All offers of employment will be contingent on satisfactory results of a pre-employment drug screen.

Required Skills & Abilities Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a small team environment

Mechanical Knowledge Mathematical knowledge, including fractions and decimals

Use and read measuring tapes and rulers

Safely operate power and hand tools

Regularly move up to 100 pounds

Quality Control Analysis Physical Demands & Work Environment Works in warehouse environment

Constantly stands at work bench

Frequently moves about the warehouse

Frequently lifts/carries/drags up to 100 pounds

Constantly hears

Occasionally performs fine finger manipulation

Frequently operates hand controls

Frequently uses near vision, far vision and/or peripheral vision

Frequently reaches at/below shoulder level or overhead

Frequently bends/stoops

Frequently performs moderate vibratory tasks

Generally moderate noise level, typical to warehouse

Constant exposure to atmospheric conditions such as paint fumes, dust, etc.

Frequent proximity to moving mechanical parts

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Must be able to work overtime as required to meet business demands.
