Delivery Coordinator

The Delivery Coordinator oversees internal and external customer orders throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring accurate scheduling, timely delivery, and clear communication across operations, shipping, quality, and planning teams. This role actively identifies and removes delivery obstacles, supports continuous improvement of process flows, and maintains a stable workflow of production orders and inventory. The position offers strong growth potential into scheduling, production control, commercial, and operations roles within a highly cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and direct internal and external customer orders through the manufacturing process, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Respond to delivery-related and product-related inquiries as needed, including direct communication with plant operations, shipping, and quality teams.
  • Engage daily with the Delivery Assurance Manager to identify delivery risks, barriers, and overall delivery status.
  • Proactively identify potential obstacles early in the process, work actively to resolve impediments, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Maintain delivery schedules, including tools such as horse blankets and line-of-balance (LOB), to ensure timely completion of orders.
  • Communicate clear and timely delivery status updates to upstream customers using established tools and reporting methods.
  • Work closely with site operations to ensure a stable workflow of orders, priorities, and stock management, including addressing stagnant work-in-progress (WIP), work order issues, and holds.
  • Collaborate directly with Master Schedulers, Materials Managers, and Central Planning to support accurate planning and execution of production orders.
  • In some locations, schedule production by using site scheduling tools to set clear production schedules that adhere to capacity and specific site limitations.
  • In locations with a Master Scheduler, partner closely to ensure timely release and correct flow of production orders through the shop floor.
  • Identify and direct the resolution of process flow routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs across the manufacturing process.
  • Participate in cross-functional delivery clinics to identify root causes of delivery issues and help prioritize corrective actions.
  • Support order management activities, including tracking orders, monitoring production control, and coordinating inventory and shipping requirements.
  • Use ERP systems and Excel to track orders, delivery status, and production metrics, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing clear communication, reliable follow-up, and responsive support.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and group environments, both internally and with customers.
  • Apply practical problem-solving and decision-making skills to resolve delivery, scheduling, and process flow issues in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 1+ year of administrative experience (excluding call center environments).
  • Order management experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Background in a manufacturing environment, preferably within aerospace or a closely related industry.
  • Experience with production control, inventory, and shipping and receiving processes.
  • Proven understanding of process flows, lead times, and lean principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of production control functions and how they support overall manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to interpret information furnished orally, in writing, and in diagram form.
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize, stay organized, maintain focus, and follow tasks through to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Capable of practical problem solving and decision making using analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
