Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with strong telemetry and ventilator management skills for a floating night shift position.
Responsibilities- Work in the ICU and PCU levels within a hospital Nursing Resource unit
- Majority of time spent with PCU level patients in ED overflow
- Float between Auburn and possibly Covington locations as needed
- Care for a variety of critical and progressive care patients, including respiratory failure, ESRD, AKI, COPD, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, post-op, CVA, ETOH, and overdose
- 16 ICU beds
- 12-hour night shifts with a weekend rotation every other weekend
- Uses EPIC EMR (required), Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- May act as lead RN for ED holding patients during shift
- Floating is required throughout ICU and PCU levels based on staffing needs
- Patient assignments do not include craniotomies, major trauma, or major cardiothoracic cases
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrubs of any color are permitted except camouflage, with navy blue preferred
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU or comparable nursing experience
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- CCRN certification preferred
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, telemetry monitoring, vent/trach and Bipap management, invasive line management, ostomies, general drains, chest tubes, and IV medication titration
- EPIC EMR experience required
