Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Nursing Resource Float (ICU/PCU/ED Overflow) Job | Auburn, WA 98001

  • ICU Size: 16 beds
  • Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $1910 - $2010
  • Scrubs: Any color (prefer navy); no camo

Job Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of recent ICU Registered Nurse (RN) experience in high-acuity critical care
  • Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)
  • EMR: Epic EMR experience required
  • Critical Care Skills: Cardiac rhythm interpretation/telemetry monitoring; ventilator, trach, and BiPAP management; invasive line management; ostomy care; management of drains and chest tubes; IV medication titration
  • Equipment: Alaris IV pumps;
    Pyxis medication dispensing
  • Traveler Eligibility: First-time travel nurses welcome
Responsibilities (ICU/PCU/ED Overflow Float RN)
  • Float throughout the Auburn area (and possibly Covington) to support ICU-level patients and lower-acuity assignments as needed
  • Provide PCU/step-down level care in ED overflow for the majority of shifts (approximately 75%)
  • Continuously assess, monitor, and document patient status; recognize deterioration and escalate promptly
  • Interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms; communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team and follow critical care protocols
  • Manage ventilators, tracheostomies, and non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP) per provider orders and unit standards
  • Maintain and troubleshoot invasive lines; manage drains, chest tubes, and ostomies safely
  • Titrate IV medications per protocol/provider orders with vigilant monitoring and documentation
  • Serve as a lead RN in ED holding areas when needed, supporting patient flow, throughput, and interdisciplinary coordination
  • Care for a diverse high-acuity population including respiratory failure, ESRD/AKI, COPD, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, post-op patients, CVA, ETOH, and overdose (no craniotomies, major traumas, or major cardiothoracic)
