American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery (Birth Center) position requiring strong L&D skills including C-section circulation and fetal monitoring, with night shifts in a 20-bed unit.
Details- Work in the Birth Center (Birth Center) of an acute care hospital
- 20-bed unit with 12 L&D beds, 8 PP/Antepartum beds (including 3 OB/ED rooms and 2 ORs), and a 6-bed Level II NICU
- Patient population includes laboring patients, antepartum, postpartum, and newborns
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR (strongly preferred)
- Teal scrubs are provided by the facility
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license (pending license with proof of application date accepted)
- Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
- Must be proficient in cervical exams, antepartum and labor management, amnio infusions, epidural assistance, fetal monitoring, IV placement, and Pitocin administration
- Must be able to circulate C-sections
- Must be experienced in newborn receiving/baby catching and APGAR scoring
- Breastfeeding knowledge required
- Comfort with all aspects of postpartum care from transition through discharge for both mother and baby strongly preferred
- At least one supervisor-level reference required (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above); a second reference will be required prior to start
- Multilingual skills (Russian or Spanish) preferred but not required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- A Scrub Tech is always on-site; scrub-trained RNs may be utilized occasionally for sick call coverage (scrub experience is a bonus, not required)
- A Nurse Practitioner is available on call for support
- Clinical interviewing is conducted through Simpli Fi
- The facility serves a multilingual patient population, with Russian and Spanish being commonly spoken
