Quality Technician II (Days)
The Quality Assurance Technician II tests and inspects products and materials at various stages of the production process. Conducts audits of Critical To Quality (CTQ) processes and Engineering Change Notices (ECN). Measures and evaluates machinery output. Performs Receiving Inspection and investigates other material issues as needed. Takes an active role with on-going training of line employees. Is able to utilize appropriate problem-solving tools to determine the root causes of issues.
Suggests ideas for and submits drafts of new CTQs and procedures.
Responsibilities include selecting products or materials for testing, testing product/material for quality characteristics, recording test data, preparing graphs/charts, interpreting engineering drawings, noting nature and magnitude of non-conformity, entering data into personal computer, writing descriptions of problems, preparing Quarantine forms as required, setting up and performing destructive and non-destructive tests on materials, parts or products.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, an associate degree or technical diploma in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field (preferred), certification in quality control, 1-3 years of experience in quality control/assurance in a manufacturing environment, preferably in vinyl extrusion or window manufacturing, experience with statistical process control and data analysis tools, proficiency in using precision measuring tools, familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems, experience with blueprint reading, proficiency with quality control software and data entry tools, attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, data analysis, time management, computer skills, ability to stand for extended periods, ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis above shoulder height and below the waist, and comfortable working in a manufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.
