Job Description
The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at stores within a 15‑mile radius of Store #708967, located at 4210 B St NW, Ste B, Bldg A, Auburn, WA 98001. This is a full‑time role with pay starting at $24.00 per hour. The position requires work at multiple locations and bilingual fluency in Spanish and English. You will work closely with commercial paint customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin‑Williams products, recommend solutions, resolve concerns promptly, maintain high visual standards, and achieve excellent customer service while meeting the store’s sales goals.
Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. A review of criminal history is necessary to protect the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.
Responsibilities- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
- Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting appropriate products and services
- Build productive trust relationships with wholesale customers
- Process sales transactions accurately and consistent with policies and procedures
- Follow and achieve sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
- Maintain precise work order files and formulas
- Pull appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse
- Tint and mix products, as needed, to customer specifications
- Stock shelves and set up displays
- Clean store equipment
- Load/unload delivery trucks
- Assist in making deliveries, as needed
- Maintain in‑stock and presentable condition assigned areas
- Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
- Comply with inventory control procedures
- Suggest ways to improve sales
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for a work visa now or in the future
- Read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
- Read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Can retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
- If internal to Sherwin‑Williams, must have at least a “meets expectations” rating on most recent performance appraisal
- If internal to Sherwin‑Williams, must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for current position
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least one year of experience working in a delivery, retail, or customer‑service position
- Previous work experience selling paint and paint‑related products
- Previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
- 0‑10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, including one floating holiday
- In the year of hire, 3‑13 paid vacation days prorated based on hire date, including a minimum of three front‑loaded paid “flex” days for unplanned absences such as sick days
- Non‑exempt employees working in Washington State accrue paid sick leave at one hour per every 40 hours worked
- Employees working in Seattle accrue paid sick leave at one hour per every 30 hours worked
- Four workweeks of paid military leave on a 12‑month rolling calendar for employees abscent due to uniformed service
- Five days of paid bereavement leave following the death of an immediate family member and three days of paid bereavement leave following the death of any other family member
- After one year of employment, two weeks of paid parental leave following the birth, adoption, or placement of a foster child
