About The Role
At Span Alaska Transportation, we keep Alaska moving and our Mechanics are critical to making that happen. In this hands-on Mechanic role, you’ll ensure our fleet operates safely, reliably, and efficiently by performing diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs on trucks and heavy equipment.
What you’ll do- Fleet Maintenance & Repair:
Perform preventative maintenance on forklifts; diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems; complete DOT inspections. - Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:
Identify mechanical issues and test repairs. - Operational Support:
Generate and complete work orders; maintain clean and safe workspace. - Team
Collaboration:
Partner with drivers and operations teams.
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years mechanic experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- CDL (Class A or
B) - Air Brake Certification
- Ability to lift, bend, and work in various conditions
The hourly range is posted for this position in Washington. The hourly rate will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
