SUMMARY

SAILS Washington Vocational Services provides support to people with disabilities under the supervision of a qualified individual. Responsibilities include working with a caseload of Community Inclusion and Individual Employment clients to provide coaching, document activities, liaise with program coordinators, and complete administrative tasks.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS
  • Support a caseload of clients qualifying for Vocational and Community Inclusion services.
  • Assist employers in identifying, setting up, and facilitating jobs for clients.
  • Help clients identify their job interests.
  • Provide job coaching and promote career development support to improve job skills.
  • Facilitate social integration between clients and other employees in collaboration with supervisors and managers.
  • Provide career counseling and behavioral intervention to enhance job performance and relationships with co‑workers and customers.
  • Demonstrate proficient use of Dayforce and Setworks within 90 days of hire.
  • Maintain daily case notes and match time entered in Setworks with Dayforce.
  • Maintain a two‑week Setworks schedule reviewed by Program Coordinator and Vocational Services Director; deadlines for submission are specified by month.
  • Communicate effectively with company managers, supervisors, and employees to resolve client performance problems or issues.
  • Teach job tasks to clients at job sites using simple, repetitive training methods.
  • Monitor client activity to ensure productivity, completion of work assignments, and quality outcomes.
  • Educate clients on company policies and procedures.
  • Report to Vocational Services Program Coordinator and Director regularly to discuss client progress.
  • Communicate with care providers and parents about issues affecting a client’s employment.
  • Provide updates to client providers and guardians.
  • Participate in the client’s planning team to develop goals and objectives.
  • Attend client PCSP meetings.
  • Understand client needs and limitations to ensure appropriate accommodations and effective supervision.
  • Notify Program Coordinator and Vocational Services Director of any problems with clients or employers promptly.
  • Assist with preparing daily/weekly scheduled job duties for clients.
  • Email documentation of client activities and progress weekly.
  • Maintain general upkeep of client files, goals, and reports to funding contacts per contract.
  • Record mileage accurately via company mileage app.
  • Promote vocational services in compliance with agency philosophy, policies, procedures, and state licensing laws.
  • Maintain good work ethics and performance standards.
  • Model positive behavior for clients at all times.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
