Overview

The Closed‑Loop outreach Coordinator will support low‑income youth and young adults who may have experience in foster care, homelessness, disconnection from school, juvenile justice and/or other systems. The role focuses on fostering stability, safety, and self‑sufficiency through individualized support in areas such as housing retention, education, employment readiness, life‑skills development, and community engagement.

Job Summary

Provides direct support to the Arcadia Overnight Shelter and Permanent Supportive Housing programs, serving youth and young adults experiencing homelessness, including individuals with disabling conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis intervention and de‑escalation support during overnight hours, assisting residents in developing and implementing safety plans and utilizing trauma‑informed approaches to support youth and young adults.
  • Support program operations by assisting with room turnovers, unit inspections, room flips, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming living environment.
  • Deliver specialized services in education, employment/career development, housing, technology, or other designated fields; support participants in achieving their goals.
  • Build strong relationships with participants to effectively provide quality services.
  • Develop individualized, strengths‑based, youth‑driven service plans.
  • Maintain clear, professional, timely participant contact notes, service plans, progress updates, outcomes, and other documentation in designated databases.
  • Teach life skills, job readiness or other subject matter individually and/or in groups.
  • Collaborate with YMCA staff and community partners to plan and facilitate activities, including visits to related community resources.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with funding liaisons, service providers, businesses, and educational institutions related to specialized services.
  • Support participants in securing safe and stable housing, permanent connections to supportive adults, education and employment, health and well‑being, and life skills.
  • May assist with program coordination or other activities related to job focus.
Expected Hours

This is an overnight position. Staff are required to remain awake and actively engaged throughout each shift.

Schedule:

Wednesday‑Sunday 10:00 pm‑6:00 am.

Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour. This position qualifies for the YGS Premium Overnight Pay initiative. The base hiring range for this position is $24.50 - $27.50 per hour.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related social services field, or equivalent experience. Master’s preferred.
  • Experience working with teens or young adults in employment, foster care, group care, housing, education, juvenile justice, anti‑poverty, vocational support, mental health, chemical dependency, and/or homelessness fields.
  • Ability to teach effective independence skills for a variety of learning styles and to plan supportive activities.
  • Strong youth engagement and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to transport self and client(s) safely; proof of adequate vehicle insurance or ability to travel to areas without public transportation.
  • Current state‑approved First Aid and CPR certification.
