We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and community-minded Community Coach to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will work one-on-one with individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them discover their strengths, pursue their interests, build confidence, and become active participants in their communities.

What You'll Do

As a Community Coach, you will:

  • Build trusting relationships with the people you support by learning about their goals, interests, strengths, and aspirations.
  • Help individuals discover and pursue hobbies, recreational activities, volunteer opportunities, educational experiences, and other community interests.
  • Connect individuals with local resources, organizations, and activities that promote inclusion and meaningful participation.
  • Build relationships with community members and organizations to identify welcoming and inclusive opportunities.
  • Support individuals in developing the skills and confidence needed to participate more independently in community life.
  • Advocate for dignity, respect, choice, and inclusion in every interaction.
  • Encourage personal growth, self-confidence, and independence while honoring each person's preferences and goals.
  • Research community resources, special funding opportunities, and grants that may benefit the people you support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, schedules, and required reports in accordance with the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) and agency policies.
  • Manage Outlook calendars and participant schedules while communicating regularly with the Director of Services regarding participant progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the organization's mission.
Required
  • At least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Have Valid Washington State Driver's License and proof of insurance, and an acceptable driving record, and must be able and willing to drive a personal vehicle
  • Must be able to pass Washington State background check; not all convictions are disqualifying.
  • Quick thinker who can adjust priorities. This position also requires flexibility for scheduling and may include some weekend or evening work as required by the supported person's activity schedule.

  • Earn 150% of your hourly rate when working these major holidays:
    New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
