This hands‑on position is responsible for safely and efficiently handling, loading, unloading, and transporting freight using flatbed equipment. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

What you’ll do:
  • Safely load and unload all inbound and outbound flatbed freight, including proper load securement
  • Label and tag freight with correct identifying information
  • Verify materials against work orders for accuracy
  • Complete shipment documentation accurately, courteously, and on time
  • Provide professional, customer‑focused service during all interactions
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety meetings
  • Conduct basic inspections, routine maintenance, and cleaning of equipment
  • Support general warehouse operations and customer service activities
  • Assist coworkers and other departments as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned
You have these skills:
  • Strong communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, maps, schedules, and hazmat documents
  • Good judgment, situational awareness, and decision‑making skills
  • Strong time management and adaptability in changing environments
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other freight‑handling equipment
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles in varied weather conditions
  • Customer service mindset
  • Knowledge and use of proper lifting techniques
And these qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass all pre‑employment screening
  • Hazardous Materials Certification
  • Forklift Certification
  • Basic understanding of freight or transportation operations
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in workflow and priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Completion of all required training and recertification
  • Ability to understand and follow regulations, procedures, and policies
  • Ability to operate all equipment used within the department
  • Safety footwear required
Extra credit if you have:
  • Minimum six months of relevant experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to move up to 200 lbs using proper equipment
  • Ability to independently lift up to 70 lbs
  • Frequent repetitive motions
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment
