Warehouse Manager

Looking for a driven, organized leader to own inventory, improve systems, grow parts performance, and lead a high-accountability team.

JOB SUMMARY

DSL Northwest Inc. is seeking a highly organized and motivated Warehouse Manager to oversee our parts department and ensure efficient operations. This role owns department KPIs, parts sales, and full inventory management — including warehouse stock, technician truck inventory and replenishment, inventory turns, and inbound/outbound LTL and FTL freight — while training and developing parts staff to maintain high standards of performance and productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Parts Department KPIs
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the parts department to ensure targets are met, including inventory accuracy, inventory turns, fill rate, and shipping on-time performance.
  • Analyze performance data and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Regularly report on KPI achievements and areas for improvement to the Director of Operations.
2. Parts Sales
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive parts sales and reduce zero-sales / dead stock.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the sales and service teams to identify new sales opportunities and market trends.
3. Parts Inventory Management
  • Oversee the management of parts inventory in both the warehouse and technician trucks.
  • Own the truck stock program across the fleet: standard stock lists, replenishment cadence, and van-to-warehouse reconciliation to support first-time-fix rates.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels and timely replenishment of stock across all warehouse locations, including reorder points and transfer suggestions between branches.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize losses, drive inventory turns toward company targets, and optimize stock levels.
4. Inventory Analyst
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, calculate inventory turns, and forecast demand.
  • Use data analysis to make informed decisions about stock levels and ordering.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory status, turns performance, and recommendations for improvement.
5. Warehouse Operations
  • Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing parts.
  • Coordinate and manage inbound LTL and FTL shipments from vendors and manufacturers, including scheduling, receiving, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Coordinate and manage outbound LTL and FTL shipments between DSL-NW branches and to customers, ensuring accurate documentation and on-time delivery.
  • Manage carrier relationships and freight costs; identify opportunities to consolidate shipments and reduce freight spend.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment across all locations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
6. Stock Inventory Ordering
  • Coordinate and manage the ordering of stock inventory to ensure availability.
  • Work with suppliers to negotiate terms and ensure timely delivery of parts.
  • Monitor stock levels and adjust orders to prevent shortages or overstocking.
7. Parts Staff Training
  • Train and develop parts staff to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment through effective team management.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and performance evaluations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, inventory turns, and sales strategies.
  • Experience coordinating LTL/FTL freight with carriers and 3PLs.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (Microsoft Business Central experience a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.
BENEFITS
  • Competitive salary
  • Health and dental insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Opportunities for professional development
