Job Qualifications- High school diploma, associate’s degree, and/or related experience preferred.
- No certification or licensure required.
- Two years of office or clerical experience preferred; experience in a school setting preferred.
- Ability to perform clerical skills such as typing, word processing, filing, answering phones, and operating office machines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills; ability to exercise independent judgment and follow through on tasks.
- Ability to work across functional boundaries and interact with employees at all levels.
- Technology skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
This position serves as a receptionist and provides clerical support for tracking and maintaining student attendance records to support teaching and learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform clerical duties for the school including maintaining discipline and attendance reports.
- File discipline and attendance materials, records, reports, and correspondence in a timely manner.
- Maintain and organize records for all incoming students.
- Prepare daily absentee reports and distribute the report to teachers.
- Maintain a daily record of attendance and total enrollment and communicate this information with the appropriate parties.
- Complete absence verification calls to parents and issue tardy notices.
- Prepare data for tribunals, court referrals, and hearings.
- Type attendance warning letters.
- Identify issues and report to administrators in a timely manner.
- Handle student excuses and early dismissals.
- Maintain the sign-in/out registration process for students.
- Prepare vandalism reports.
- Process information requests accurately and quickly as assigned.
- Operate and maintain routine office equipment.
- Communicate with all parties in a businesslike, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, or applicable regulations.
The work environment is moderate noise. The employee may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, stand, and sit.
