Position: Medical Support Assistant (Surgical Scheduler/Coordinator)

About the Position:

This position is located in Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia. The position is located on the 1st floor of the hospital within a co-located office alongside two other MSA schedulers. Subject to work in individual clinic sites based on mission requirements and the needs of supported clinics. Full-time 8-hour shifts per day. Workweek:
Monday - Friday. Core

Hours:

Operational windows range flexibly between 0730 and 1600.

Basic Requirement for Medical Support Assistant (Scheduler/Office Automation):

Specialized

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Use automated scheduling systems to make and update patient appointments following established guidelines; 2.) Assist medical staff and supervisors by coordinating and confirming patient scheduling needs; 3.) Prepare routine memorandums, reports, and correspondence for medical personnel, staff, or management using standard formats. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Proficiency

Required:

This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
