We are establishing an employment pool of Practice Leaders to join our team on a full-time term basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing information, resources, mentoring, coaching and other support to strengthen the practice capability of staff and drive practice excellence.
  • Recognising skill and knowledge gaps amongst staff and facilitating training or other development activities.
  • Leading strategic projects and building practice capability within the office.
  • Coordinating with staff to ensure case management processes and decision making are consistent with statutory requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Deliver improved outcomes for children and young people, their families and carers by providing high quality consultation services.
  • Collaborate with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Provide high-quality evidence based, accountable and ethically sound social work practice.

PLEASE NOTE:

This expression of interest pool will be utilised to backfill short/medium term vacancies across the FNFW region throughout 2025. This could include opportunities within any of the six FNFW office locations (Ceduna, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Port Augusta, Port Pirie, Far North). Regular travel to these locations will be required.

Essential

Qualifications:

A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
