Overview
Your Job The SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) Superintendent will oversee and implement stormwater management and erosion control measures on construction sites. This role ensures compliance with environmental regulations and company policies to minimize the impact of construction activities on surrounding ecosystems. The SWPPP Superintendent will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other construction personnel to maintain a safe and environmentally compliant job site.
Travel is extensive (approximately 95%), with per diem and monthly home trips. This position is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship.
- Oversee and manage Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) for construction projects to ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Ensure erosion and sediment control measures are properly installed, maintained, and functioning effectively.
- Conduct routine site inspections to monitor SWPPP compliance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare and maintain required documentation, including inspection reports, monitoring data, and records of corrective actions.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies during site inspections and audits.
- Supervise and lead crews responsible for installing and maintaining stormwater and erosion control measures.
- Train and guide construction personnel on SWPPP requirements, best practices, and environmental compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate SWPPP measures into the overall construction schedule and operations.
- Address SWPPP-related issues promptly to prevent environmental impacts and project delays.
- Promote and support a strong safety culture by following safety protocols, conducting safety meetings, and participating in safety audits.
- Experience in stormwater management, erosion control, and implementation of SWPPP.
- Experience leading or supervising SWPPP or civil construction teams.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and SWPPP documents.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to multiple job sites.
- Familiarity with Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GA-EPD) regulations.
- Experience coordinating with local and state regulators during inspections and ensuring compliance with Georgia-specific stormwater management requirements.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Erosion, Sediment, and Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI) or similar credentials.
