Commercial Construction Estimator

We are a general contracting company located in Augusta, Georgia, seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in commercial construction.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role requires the ability to consult with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop project estimates, evaluate costs, and resolve issues throughout the bidding process. Candidates must be highly skilled in analyzing blueprints, specifications, material takeoffs, proposals, and other project documents to prepare detailed labor, material, and cost estimates.

• Study and thoroughly review all project plans, specifications, and bid documents for each project being estimated
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction documents
• Attend all site walkthroughs and pre-bid meetings
• Break down all project components by trade and scope of work
• Estimate all labor, material, equipment, and associated project costs
• Identify qualified subcontractors for each trade involved in the project
• Distribute proposal requests to subcontractors and track all bid responses
• Analyze and determine profit margins for each trade and overall project
• Review subcontractor proposals to ensure all scope requirements are included
• Maintain organized and accurate estimate records
• Prepare complete bid packages for submission
• Review all estimates and proposals with ownership/management to ensure bids are accurate, competitive, and profitable

• Proven experience as an Estimator in commercial construction
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and trade scopes
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office is preferred

Estimated range between $70,000 to $100,000 depending on work experience.
