The Superintendent is responsible for and will be held accountable for the timely completion of the project and ensuring that the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans and specifications. Superintendent shall schedule all subcontractors, & vendors, as well as ensure their completion of work within time allowed. Conflicts or revisions to the plan shall be communicated with the project team for mutual resolution, prior to execution of work that deviates from the approved plans.

Superintendent shall establish and enforce job site safety and quality control programs to ensure safe and quality completion of construction.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in the critical path to ensure timely completion.
  • Verify the quality of subcontractors' work to ensure it meets the standards of Clifton Construction and the project specifications.
  • Communicate with project team regarding RFI’s and submittals in order to keep others informed about developments and plans.
  • Ensure the subcontractor is fully executing and complying with the contracted scope of work to be able to provide feedback both positive and corrective as soon as possible.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions to keep the job moving forward.
  • Maintain a daily log of activities and pictures on the jobsite in order to keep a precise history of the project.
  • Ensure the subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by the project team.
  • Walk entire jobsite daily to monitor quality control and keep the project on schedule.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner in order to ensure a safe jobsite free of accidents and trash.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings on jobsite to remind subcontractors of Clifton Construction’s policies.
  • Confirm subcontractor's work against plans for accuracy, location, and quality.
  • Create two week look ahead on a weekly basis to verify subcontractors schedule and to keep Clifton Construction’s schedule in progress.
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of direct commercial construction supervision experience.
  • Management of 15+ subcontractors and vendors by providing direction and helping to resolve confusion/problems.
  • Communicate using the following tools: cell phone, email, & computer.
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings and ensure fieldwork matches the plans and specifications.
  • Endurance and ability to visit the entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must be able to lift more than 50 pounds.
  • More than 40 hours per week may be required to meet project deadlines.
  • Able to travel to jobsite as assigned.
