The Opportunity

Kraker Inc is actively seeking a highly skilled, detail-driven Commercial Electrical Estimator to anchor our pre-construction division in the Senoia area. This role is engineered for an analytical, local trade specialist who thrives on breaking down blueprints and calculating precise bids for diverse commercial construction projects. This is a dedicated pre-construction estimating role rather than a service electrician position. Master Pre-Construction Financials. Drive Competitive Bidding Accuracy for an Industry Leader.

Key Responsibilities

You will hold total ownership over the competitive bidding process, transforming complex commercial drawings into precise, profitable electrical budgets:

  • Quantity Takeoff Engineering:
    Perform comprehensive, digital quantity takeoffs for commercial power distribution, lighting systems, fire alarms, and branch wiring.
  • Blueprint & Document Analysis:
    Review and interpret architectural blueprints, structural drawings, MEP engineering schematics, and project specification manuals to identify cost variables.
  • Material & Labor Costing:
    Formulate detailed, accurate cost estimates for raw electrical materials, specialized equipment, components, and field labor hours.
  • Subcontractor & Vendor Solicitation:
    Reach out to specialized material suppliers, manufacturers, and sub-trades to solicit and negotiate highly competitive quotes.
  • Scope Definition & Review:
    Analyze project documents to construct a clear, unambiguous scope of work for field delivery, identifying potential design gaps or value engineering opportunities.
  • Project Handoff

    Collaboration:

    Finalize structural project estimates and compile highly organized handoff folders to ensure field superintendents and project managers are aligned on delivery budgets.
  • Data Matrix Management:
    Maintain and build accurate, updated cost databases and tracking spreadsheets to support lightning-fast estimate revisions.
What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)
  • Estimating Tenure:
    Minimum of 3 years of dedicated, professional experience specifically formulating commercial electrical construction estimates.
  • Technical Schematic Fluency:
    Elite ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference complex architectural, civil, structural, and mechanical drawings.
  • Code & Systems Mastery:
    Deep functional understanding of commercial electrical power distributions, low-voltage control logic, and current National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Software Literacy:
    Proficiency in professional electrical takeoff software architectures and Microsoft Excel spreadsheet logic.
  • Local Market Knowledge:
    Must be located in or within a reliable commuting distance of Senoia, GA, with a functional understanding of regional commercial vendor markets.
