Overview
The Foundations Manager at ACCIONA will support Louisiana Bridge Builders by overseeing all foundation-related construction activities across projects. The role is based on site in Lake Charles, LA.
Responsibilities- Lead, plan, and manage all foundation-related construction activities.
- Review project specifications, geotechnical reports, and design drawings to ensure proper execution of foundation systems.
- Monitor production, schedule, and cost performance specific to foundation scopes and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Identify risks related to subsurface conditions, equipment, materials, and production methods; develop mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless field execution.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental requirements, and regulatory guidelines for all foundation work.
- Provide technical expertise and problem‑solving support for complex foundation challenges in the field.
- Review and approve RFIs, submittals, and permits related to foundation construction activities.
- Track and report quantities, production rates, and cost data for accurate project financial reporting.
- Conduct site visits and field evaluations to ensure quality control and adherence to design specifications.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to the Construction Manager and project leadership.
- Supervise team members, including training, assigning work, performance reviews, and personnel actions.
- Promote continuous improvement in construction methods, safety practices, and productivity.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field with 7+ years of heavy civil construction experience focusing on foundations, OR high school diploma with 11+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, including deep foundations operations.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong expertise in foundation construction methods including piling, drilled shafts, deep foundations, and substructure work.
- Proven ability to lead and manage technical teams in a field construction environment.
- Strong project management capabilities including planning, scheduling, and cost control.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geotechnical data.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills across all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent.
- Team‑oriented with initiative to work independently to reach goals.
- Embrace change and encourage innovative approaches among team members.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
