** About the Columbus River Dragons
** The Columbus River Dragons, members of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) since 2019, are a professional hockey team located in Columbus, Georgia. We pride ourselves on providing an elite, high-energy hockey experience for our fans while maintaining a strong culture of professionalism, accountability, and team-first values behind the scenes.
** Position Summary
** As a Social Media Intern, you will support the day-to-day digital storytelling of the Columbus River Dragons. You'll work closely with our communications and marketing staff to capture, create, and share compelling content across social platforms. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in sports marketing, content creation, and fan engagement, as well as school credit if needed — perfect for anyone looking to break into digital media or professional sports.

** Key Responsibilities
*** Capture game day and event content, including photo and video footage for use across digital channels.
* Assist in the creation of short-form videos, graphics, and social-first content to drive engagement and brand awareness.
* Provide live coverage on game days — including behind-the-scenes footage, real-time highlights, and fan-focused moments.
* Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team on content planning, scheduling, and publishing across platforms.
* Support ongoing campaigns and engage directly with fans through comments, messages, and community interaction.
* Help maintain brand voice and consistency across Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, X (Twitter), and You Tube.
* Monitor trends, sports memes, and league content to contribute fresh ideas and timely posts.
* Assist with performance tracking and analytics reports to guide content strategy.
* Participate in content brainstorming sessions, fan engagement projects, and sponsorship activations.
* Additional responsibilities as assigned.
** Qualifications
* ** Familiarity with and passion for major social platforms — Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, X, and You Tube.
* Strong writing skills with the ability to match the River Dragons’ voice and tone.
* Experience with basic photo and video editing tools (Canva, Cap Cut, or Adobe Suite preferred).
* Ability to work evenings, weekends, and all home games.
* Self-starter who is highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven sports environment.
* Experience with photography, video production, or journalism is a plus.
* ** This is not a paid internship, but may be used for course credit.
*** 17+ years of age.
** Preferred Skills
*** Coursework or experience in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or Journalism.
* Proficiency in tools like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, or other design platforms.
* Ability to multitask while staying focused on quality and deadlines.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media scheduling tools.
* Understanding of the hockey landscape and culture is a bonus — but not required.
* Be the digital voice behind one of the FPHL’s most exciting and engaged franchises.

* Work in a collaborative environment that values creativity, innovation, and initiative.
