The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) in the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. The faculty member will provide comprehensive clinical care, including full call responsibilities, while supervising and educating students and residents in clinical and didactic settings. Maintaining all required licensure, credentials, and continuing education to ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory standards will be required.
The faculty member will also participate in scholarly activity and contribute to departmental, institutional, and professional service through committee involvement, accreditation support, and community engagement.
This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.

- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, including current surgical techniques, patient management, anesthesia, and evidence-based standards of care.
- Demonstrates advanced clinical, surgical, and teaching skills, including the ability to perform complex procedures, effectively supervise and instruct learners, and communicate clearly with patients and colleagues.
- Deliver didactic instruction in predoctoral, postdoctoral, and/or residency training programs.
- Supervise and mentor residents, and predoctoral students, in clinical and surgical settings.
- Serve as course director or co-director, when assigned.
- Develop, update, and assess course materials, syllabi, and educational content as needed when course director.
- Provide feedback for residents and predoctoral students, contribute to grading and evaluations.
- Participate in recruitment, interviewing, and selection of residents.
- Support continuing education programs and professional development offerings.
- Complete CITI training, IRB training and obtaining IRB online access.
- Engage in clinical, translational, or basic science research relevant to OMFS.
- Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals, textbooks, or professional publications.
- Mentor students and residents in research design, execution, and dissemination.
- Serve on departmental, college (DCG), university (AU), hospital, or health system committees as appointed or elected.
- Participate in faculty governance through committee work, task forces, and advisory groups.
- Maintain active membership and participation in relevant professional organizations (e.g., AAOMS, specialty boards).
- Complete and maintain required continuing education (CE) credits for professional licensure and hospital privileges.
- Fulfill all CE and credentialing requirements mandated by the department, DCG, AU, Wellstar and affiliated clinical institutions.
