The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia treats adults and children with ear, nose, and throat disorders, with emphasis on thyroid and parathyroid surgery, head & neck cancer, neck masses, endoscopic sinus surgery, otology, cochlear implants, plastic surgery, sleep surgery, skull base surgery, voice disorders, adult dysphagia, and complex airway reconstruction.
Our faculty are devoted to the education and development of outstanding clinicians according to core competencies of patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning, communication, professionalism, and systems-based practice. The five-year Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery residency program offers a broad range of clinical and academic experiences designed to produce world class otolaryngologists and includes intensive exposure to the medical and surgical management of all facets of our specialty.
State-of-the-art research facilities, a collaborative research environment, and outstanding clinical resources place the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University at the leading edge of new scientific advancements. The department is currently conducting over 40 studies, and in the last five years has published over 140 papers, establishing it as one of the leading institutions for research. Our research is supported by the NIH and other external sponsors;
it includes both basic and clinical investigation in all major areas of otolaryngology.
Job Summary
The position provides administrative support to Otolaryngology faculty in a busy medical practice. The duties include, but are not limited to providing phone coverage, obtaining required information to schedule patient visits and surgeries, assisting faculty members with patient dictation, clinical documentation, patient inquiries, handling internal and external correspondence, routing grant applications, maintaining multiple calendars, coordinating and scheduling meetings, and making travel, lodging arrangements, preparing travel authorizations and expense reports, preparing teaching materials for seminars, arranging visitor itineraries, maintaining filing system, ordering office supplies, and performing all other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
Administrative support for Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs/Clinical Service Chief for Otolaryngology, Surgical Director of Augusta University Thyroid and Parathyroid Center, Director of Research for Otolaryngology, and the Assistant Dean of GME/Associate DIO. Additionally, this role supports two other faculty (a total of 6 faculty positions), 2 limited term instructor positions, and 5 APP positions.
