Job Summary
Position:
Faculty member (Assistant/Associate/Professor) in the Division of Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery at Augusta University, Medical College of Georgia.
Location:
Columbia County Hospital, Grovetown, GA (5 miles from the main Wellstar MCG Health campus). This full‑time faculty position is not tenure track.
- Develop and provide clinical practice in plastic surgery.
- Enhance the Plastic Surgery Program by increasing clinic visits and surgical volumes.
- Collaborate with Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Dermatology, and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
- Participate in the call schedule with the Division of Plastic Surgery.
- Teach and educate general surgery, otolaryngology, and OMFS residents about plastic surgery; teach medical students surgical and wound‑care components.
- Mentor students and residents applying to plastic surgery residency programs through research, collaboration, and networking.
- MD, DO, or equivalent doctorate; must be board-certified or board‑eligible in plastic surgery with 0‑5 years of experience.
- Ability to obtain credentials in Plastic Surgery at Wellstar MCG Health.
- Qualifications differ by rank:
- Assistant Professor – early‑career faculty with appropriate postgraduate training.
- Associate Professor – mid‑level faculty with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable experience.
- Professor – senior‑level faculty with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable experience.
- Meet the following faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and ranks:
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) institutional accreditation requirements.
- Evidence of teaching ability.
- Evidence of scholarly activity and competence in all other assigned duties.
- Successful experience (waived for recent entrants meeting other requirements).
- Desirable personal qualities assessed during interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
Experience in an academic medical center.
Shift / Salary / BenefitsThis fiscal‑year position is year‑round, full‑time (1.0 FTE). Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, and are subject to funding availability.
