Associate Professor or Professor. The role includes clinical practice, research, teaching, and administrative leadership of a growing division.
- Oversee faculty, physician extenders and administrative staff.
- Identify opportunities for growth of clinical, research and educational programs.
- Develop division‑specific research, scholarship, education and clinical goals and monitor progress.
- Create individual faculty development plans and conduct annual performance reviews.
- Monitor academic progress and fiscal responsibility, including funding sources.
- Ensure compliance with billing, documentation, and institutional policies.
- Oversee delivery of quality clinical care and maximize patient access.
- Maintain on‑call and clinical schedules.
- Provide high‑quality patient care in gastroenterology and hepatology.
- Participate in clinical duties, including on‑call coverage with faculty.
- Meet metrics for OPPE and productivity targets.
- Develop professional relationships and referral patterns.
- Provide education and training to residents, medical students and staff.
- Maintain teaching evaluation scores at or above department mean.
- Attend at least 50% of grand rounds and monthly faculty meetings.
- MD/DO/MBBS, board certified in Gastroenterology/Hepatology.
- State of Georgia medical license and federal DEA registration; CPR certification.
- Associate Professor candidate: at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable.
- Professor candidate: at least five years at rank of Associate Professor or comparable.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness, scholarly activity, and successful experience as per SACSCOC standards.
Full‑time, 1.0 FTE, fiscal‑year based. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, 13 paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver and wellness options.
