The Division of Acute Care Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia and Wellstar MCG Health is recruiting an additional fellowship-trained Acute Care Surgeon to join our growing academic program in Augusta, Georgia.

Our division provides comprehensive trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care across a large regional health system. With an expanding faculty, an established Surgical Critical Care Fellowship, continued investment in Acute Care Surgery, and the opening of the new Wellstar Columbia County Medical Center in one of the region’s fastest-growing communities, this is an opportunity to join a strong program during an exciting period of growth.

Our flagship academic medical center is a premier regional trauma center serving a large referral population with a substantial penetrating trauma burden and an active operative trauma practice. Faculty practice across the full spectrum of Acute Care Surgery, including trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care, with an expanding robotic emergency general surgery practice.

The academic environment includes an established Surgical Critical Care Fellowship, General Surgery residency, and the Medical College of Georgia. Faculty participate in resident and fellow education, research, quality improvement, and clinical program growth.

Our goal is to continue developing one of the premier Acute Care Surgery programs in the Southeast while maintaining the collegiality and quality of life that make our program distinctive. We are looking for an engaged surgeon who wants to join a program with significant momentum and contribute to its continued clinical and academic growth. Formal leadership opportunities may be available for qualified candidates depending on experience, interests, and career goals.

Candidates should be board certified or board eligible in General Surgery and have completed fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care and/or Acute Care Surgery. Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in Georgia. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
