Job Summary

The Associate Director of Campus Visits and the Welcome Center plays a pivotal role in shaping the first impressions and experiences of prospective students and their families. This position oversees the planning, execution, and assessment of all on-campus, off-campus, and virtual recruitment events and manages the daily operations of the Gretchen

B. Caughman Student Welcome Center. The Associate Director ensures that every visitor's interaction reflects the institution's mission, brand, and commitment to student success.

Responsibilities
  • STRATEGIC RECRUITMENT SUPPORT: Develop events and programs that support recruitment and yield goals; design programming to create meaningful connections between prospective students, families, and the AU campus community. Utilize CRM and event management platforms to manage registrations, communications, and post-visit follow-up. Analyze visitor and event data to inform strategic decisions and measure conversion metrics. Ensure accessibility of programs for all participants.
  • WELCOME CENTER LEADERSHIP: Oversee daily operations of the Gretchen

    B. Caughman Student Welcome Center; hire, train, and mentor full-time staff. Develop operating procedures, visit routes, and information sessions aligned with recruitment goals and brand messaging. Supervise 1828 Ambassadors and student staff; collaborate with campus partners to ensure seamless visit experiences. Manage facilities used by AU partners and external agencies.
  • EVENT PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT: Lead design and execution of major admissions events (preview days, admitted student programs, counselor events). Coordinate with Enrollment & Student Affairs and Academic Colleges to deliver engaging experiences. Oversee logistics, budgeting, and post-event assessments to evaluate impact on applications, visits, and yield.
  • COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION: Serve on the Office of Undergraduate Admissions leadership team; liaise with campus stakeholders and committees related to events and visitor engagement; provide guidance to campus colleagues hosting recruitment events.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of experience in event management or planning, college admissions, or higher education programming/administration.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Higher Education, Marketing, Communications, or related field. Experience with campus visit programs or admissions recruitment events. Experience with Technolutions Slate CRM. Experience advising student ambassadors…
