Augusta University's Department of Psychological Sciences is seeking to fill a non-tenure track position at the rank of Lecturer, anticipated to begin August 2026. We seek individuals who can teach Cognitive Psychology, Quantitative Methods, and Research Methods, as well as show a commitment to effective pedagogy for undergraduate and graduate classes. Responsibilities
* Teach 8 courses as assigned by the department chair in general introductory level psychology, as well as select upper division undergraduate courses such as Cognitive Psychology, Quantitative Methods, and Research Methods.
* Provide service for the department, college, or university.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in psychology and experience teaching in a college environment.
Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
* Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
* Evidence of ability as a teacher;
* Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
* Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
* Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.
D.) in Psychology and experience teaching in a college environment.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0.
Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

College/Department Information
The Department of Psychological Sciences is composed of a collegial group of 13 full-time faculty members with expertise across a broad spectrum of psychology disciplines and currently operates undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The Undergraduate program offers a Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology that can be paired with an optional Pre-Medicine track and a minor in Psychology. In addition, we offer an Accelerated Bachelor of Science with a Major in Psychology to a Master of Arts in Intelligence and Security Studies with a Concentration in Social Influence.
Psychology is one of the largest and fastest growing majors at Augusta University. Many of our graduates go on to graduate study in psychology, counseling, law or medical school and various other graduate programs. Other graduates find employment in various organizations and businesses. The Master's degree program offers three concentrations: MPCAC-accredited Clinical/Counseling, Applied Experimental, and General Experimental. The Department is located in the Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences on Augusta University's Summerville campus, where we have developed laboratories for the study of clinical, cognitive, social, and developmental bases of behavior.
