JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
Master’s degree (preferred).

Certification or Licensure: Must possess a valid Georgia teaching certificate or ability to acquire. Graduate work in reading, math, or technology AND/OR related endorsements (reading, math, gifted, STEM, online teaching, personalized learning, computer science, teacher support and coaching, teacher leader, coaching) preferred. Must meet the district’s online learning competency requirement.

Skills: Knowledge of the RCSS curriculum, techniques for integrating technology into the curriculum, RCSS policies, and effective instructional practices for face‑to‑face and virtual instruction. Understanding of the teaching and learning process.?

Ability to problem solve and work effectively with administrators, teachers, and students. Technical proficiency and the ability to learn new technology and online systems quickly. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills. Knowledge of Canvas Learning Management System.

Work Experience: At least five years of successful teaching experience; evidence of student achievement and student progress; strong leadership skills; familiarity with adult learning and online learning; evidence of effective technology use; and data analysis skills.

PRIMARY DUTY

This position is responsible for supporting, developing, and coaching teachers on increasing content knowledge and skills for effective teaching and learning under the direction of the School Principal and the Department of Teaching and Learning. The main work location will be school-based.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates practical application of research-based, learner-centered instructional strategies.
  • Provides targeted support to new teachers.
  • Leads vertical and horizontal collaborative planning sessions.
  • Analyze instructional practices and data to address specific areas for growth.
  • Designs and delivers professional development on instructional best practices, standards-based instruction, assessment, and other targeted topics.
  • Develop?coaching?plans for teachers to ensure student improvement.
  • Models direct instruction and intervention lessons for teachers and implements problem-solving strategies for all content areas.
  • Attends district-level training and redelivers information as appropriate.
  • Possesses knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online and face‑to‑face instruction.
  • Demonstrates operational knowledge of internet and web-related technologies.
  • Collect and submit data in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes various student data including, student work samples, screener data, and other formative and summative data to inform instructional decisions.
  • Models the use of research-based instructional practices.
  • Assists in the implementation of the School Improvement Plan, Title I Plan, and other school or district initiatives.
  • Assists in compiling reports and forms relative to the Title I regulations.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

    Required to attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the RCSS contract. Some work beyond the school day may be required.
