Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics at Augusta University invites applications for a non-tenure-track teaching Assistant Professor position. A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or Mathematics Education is expected along with college-level teaching experience and strong teaching references. Teaching responsibilities for this position will involve general education mathematics and statistics courses, mathematics education courses, dual enrollment classes, and potentially more advanced courses.

Responsibilities
- Teaching (80%) – Teaching undergraduate mathematics and statistics is the primary duty.
- Research (10%) – Faculty member is expected to stay current with their field.
- Service (10%) – Faculty member is expected to contribute to the faculty governance of the department.
- Doctorate in Mathematics, Statistics, or related area with experience teaching at the college level.
- Assistant Professor – Terminal degree or its equivalent in training, ability, and/or experience.
- Evidence of ability as a teacher, evidence of activity as a scholar, and successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements).
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
This position is academic year based and typically works August through May. The intended full‑time equivalent is 1.0. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to availability of funds. Conditions of EmploymentAll selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review before starting.
