Job Overview

Parent Involvement Facilitators serve as liaisons between schools, parents, and community organizations and endeavor to increase parental involvement in schools. Facilitators are responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Family Engagement programs, including preparing, organizing, and coordinating materials, workshops, and training sessions.

Qualifications

Educational Level: Associate's Degree or two years of post‑secondary education from an accredited college is required; experience working jointly with families and schools and/or experience working in a Title I school is preferred.

Certification/Licensing:
None.

Skills:

Written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate well with students, families, school personnel, and the community; ability to read, comprehend, and write correspondence and effectively present information; ability to multitask, computer competence, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Skills:

Pleasant personality, ability to interact with stakeholders using tactful yet effective skills, cooperative attitude, physical stamina to perform essential duties.

Salary

CCSS Classified Salary Schedule – A08 (Start pay $15.00 – max pay $22.71). 190 work days. Yearly salary is determined by multiplying the hourly pay rate by the number of work days; the total is then divided by 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a liaison between the school, parents, and community agencies.
  • Refers students and/or families to community agencies as needed.
  • Confers regularly with school’s administration.
  • Confers regularly with teachers concerning the needs of students and works collaboratively with teachers and parents to arrange conferences.
  • Develop family engagement programs according to Federal guidelines by determining priorities, analyzing data, and estimating cost.
  • Develop volunteer list and coordinate volunteer placements throughout the District, including screening, background checks and processing of volunteers.
