OHFH Agency is currently building a qualified candidate pool for upcoming Special Education Paraprofessional opportunities within Dougherty County for the 2026–2027 school year.
We are seeking dependable, compassionate, and professional individuals who are passionate about supporting students with disabilities within classroom environments. Candidates should be comfortable working closely with Special Education Teachers, school staff, and students requiring academic, behavioral, and classroom support.
This role plays a critical part in helping students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally within educational settings.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Special Education Teachers with classroom instruction and student support
- Provide one‑on‑one and small group support for students as assigned
- Support implementation of IEP accommodations and classroom modifications
- Assist students with classroom activities, assignments, transitions, and behavioral support
- Help maintain a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment
- Support student engagement, communication, and participation
- Monitor student behavior and report concerns to supervising staff
- Assist with instructional materials, classroom preparation, and daily support activities
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance within school environments
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience working with children, students, or individuals with disabilities preferred
- Experience in classroom support, behavioral support, childcare, youth programs, or special education environments is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable attendance and professional conduct required
- Ability to pass required background screenings and compliance requirements
- Reliable transportation and ability to work on‑site within Dougherty County
Preferred Experience
- School or childcare experience
- Substitute teaching or paraprofessional experience
