Job Summary
The Instructional Designer () 2 is responsible for working collaboratively with faculty, subject matter experts, and cross-departmental stakeholders in conceptualization, design, development, and on-time delivery of high-quality online courses and learning experiences. The ID2 will ensure the courses they develop meet federal accessibility standards, university policies, and AU Online Guiding Principles. They play an active role in team decision making related to team goals, adopted instructional design processes, adoption of educational and eLearning authoring technology, quality assurance process refinement, as well as the improvement of continuous improvement practices.
Their contributions to the development of processes and procedures will ensure consistency, on-going quality, and regulatory compliance of all AU Online courses and programs. As senior course designers, they will model best practices in course design and faculty engagement. They will serve as mentors for those in the Instructional Designer 1 role. The ID2 will advise the Director of Instructional Designer regarding emerging design practices and educational technologies.
