The Department of Mathematics at Augusta University invites applications for a non-tenure track teaching Assistant Professor position which will be renewable and promo table. A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or Mathematics Education is expected along with college-level teaching experience and strong teaching references. Teaching responsibilities for these positions will involve general education mathematics and statistics courses, mathematics education courses, dual enrollment classes, and potentially more advanced course(s).

Responsibilities

Teaching - 80

Teach courses to undergraduate and/or graduate students on topics in mathematics and statistics.

Scholarship - 10

Research and other scholarly activities (publishing, presenting) in your field of mathematics to involve undergraduate science majors, and instruct graduate students in development.

Service - 10

Service to the university entails work on department, college, and university committees, work groups, and/or campaigns in order to promote and support Augusta University's mission.

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or Mathematics Education

- Early level career as a faculty member

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

* Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;

* Evidence of ability as a teacher;

* Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;

* Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,

* Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0.

- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
