Job Overview
Seeking Full‑Time Certified English Teacher for 2026‑2027. ELA grades 4‑8 or certificate in English 6‑12. Starting Salary: $59,149/year plus additional compensation for higher certification levels.
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 8:00‑5:00.
Devereux Georgia provides intensive residential treatment in a secure setting for youth, ages 10 to 21, who are facing significant emotional, behavioral and intellectual challenges. The campus offers a swimming pool, volleyball court, tennis court, playing field, lake and playground.
Within our secure treatment setting we provide an on‑campus, K‑12 accredited school, Ackerman Academy, designed to help students achieve academic success with an individualized curriculum and low teacher‑to‑student ratio.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Devereux special education teacher, you will work with other dedicated education professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.
Teachers follow a modified district calendar: additional days during Fall and Winter Breaks, and 15 days during May/June for Summer Enrichment. During inclement weather staff are expected to report to work in person.

Devereux offers ASCEND – the first career accelerator program exclusively designed for behavioral healthcare workers. The program includes 100% tuition covered (up to $15,000 reimbursed annually for undergraduate and $25,000 for graduate) and student loan repayment.
Qualifications- 21 years or older and a valid driver’s license.
- Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred.
- Georgia teaching certification:
Social Studies 6‑12 or Special Education Teaching Certification (preferred). - Two years teaching experience preferred.
Initial new hire paid training: 2 weeks, Monday‑Friday, 8:30‑5:30, located in Kennesaw, GA. Post‑training, school located in Lawrenceville, Monday‑Friday 8:00‑5:00.
